In 2011, Jari-Matti Latvala confirmed the potential he showed in 2010. His 4th place in the driver’s championship didn’t do justice to his form. He took his role as number two in the team with dignity and professionalism as he helped Hirvonen in the title fight with Loeb. Hirvonen wasn’t really a threat to Loeb, while Latvala shined in the 2011 season, even on tarmac, which he doesn’t like nearly as much as gravel. Ford took quite a bit of time before deciding to continue with M-Sport in the World Rally Championship alongside 2003 WRC champion, Petter Solberg.
